On July 21 Ambassador Tolendy Makeyev met with Gerhard Sailler, the Director General of the Department of the Russian Federation, Eastern Europe, the South Caucasus, Turkiye, Central Asia and the Arctic of the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs of Austria.

The complex topics of practical interaction between the two countries and some topical issues on the international agenda were touched upon during the meeting.

Both sides agreed that they would work together to intensify bilateral cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and Austria on a wide range of issues of mutual interest.

Concrete measures will be taken to organize mutual visits at all levels and to held annual political consultations in order to further develop the political dialogue between two countries.

Discussing the economic aspects of cooperation, sides noted with satisfaction the activity of the state bodies of the two countries interested in the full implementation of the final agreements of the 8th meeting of the Joint Kyrgyz-Austrian Commission for Economic Cooperation held in 2022, and the adoption of concrete steps for further mutually beneficial trade, economic and investment cooperation.
