          On October 30, 2019, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Austria Mr.Bakyt Dzhusupov met with the Director General of the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) Dr.Albert van Jaarsveld.

At the meeting the parties discussed the scientific cooperation of the Institute with Kyrgyzstan and how to further strengthen it.

Director General Albert van Jaarsveld informed on research projects of the Institute for Economic Integration in the Eurasian space and research programs in the field of environment, economics and technology. Albert van Jaarsveld noted the Institute’s interest in conducting research on water-energy-economic cooperation in the region.

For his part, Ambassador Bakyt Dzhusupov informed about the political and economic transformations in the country and the Central Asian region as a whole.

The role of the Institute in the development of the Strategy for the sustainable development of the industry of the Kyrgyz Republic for 2019-2023 and the Action Plan for its implementation, which was adopted by a decree of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic on September 27, 2019, was noted.

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed a mutual opinion on the need to develop more systemic relations between Kyrgyzstan and the Institute.
