On October 6, 2021, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the State of Kuwait Azamat Karagulov met with Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs of the State of Kuwait, Ambassador Walid Ali Al-Hobaizi.

Ambassador A. Karagulov congratulated Walid Al-Khobaizi on his appointment as Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs and wished him fruitful work on the joint development of bilateral relations between the Kyrgyz Republic and the State of Kuwait. He also noted the positive results of the work of the parties in maintaining regular political contacts between the heads of the foreign affairs bodies of the two countries and coordinating credit and humanitarian cooperation.

In turn, Ambassador W. Al-Khobaizi stressed the high interest of the Kuwaiti side in maintaining the achieved level of interaction in the political, credit and humanitarian spheres, noting the tasks of the parties to develop trade and economic cooperation.

Along with this, the parties discussed the organization of visits at high and highest levels, the timing of regular meetings of the Joint Kyrgyz-Kuwait Commission on Economic and Technical Cooperation and inter-MFA political consultations.

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed satisfaction that the opening of direct flights between Bishkek and Kuwait in 2021 significantly increased the tourist flow from Kuwait and the Gulf countries to Kyrgyzstan, contributing to mutual acquaintance and active trade between the peoples of the two states.
