As part of the planned work to promote economic diplomacy by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, from October 4 to 6, 2022, with the assistance of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Italy, a delegation of representatives of Italian business circles visited the Kyrgyz Republic.

The delegation included representatives of the Barbagia Agricultural Region Foundation from the Sardinia region, Italian renewable energy companies AT Ambiente and Sviluppo Ambiente from the Lombardy region, as well as Italian tourism and hospitality businesses.

During the visit, the delegation met with representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Labour, Social Security and Migration, Energy, Agriculture, Energy, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the National Agency under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Kyrgyz Industry OJSC, National Holding Company Heritage of the Great Nomads”, as well as the Tourism Development Support Fund in the Kyrgyz Republic. At the same time, Italian entrepreneurs were able to get acquainted with the activities of Bishkeksut OJSC by visiting the production of dairy products.

During the B2B business forum organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the National Agency under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Kyrgyz entrepreneurs of the agricultural sector of the Kyrgyz Republic discussed with the Italian side the export of agricultural products to Italy, in the form of supplies of dried fruits, nuts and honey to the Sardinia region. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Barbagia Agricultural District Foundation signed an Agreement of Intent to cooperate in the export of agricultural products, implement a project to train specialists from the Kyrgyz Republic in the production of goat milk cheese, attract skilled labor from the Kyrgyz Republic to the Sardinia region, and interact in the field of tourism.

Prospects for the implementation of investment projects in the field of renewable energy sources in the Kyrgyz Republic were discussed with the leadership of the Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic. The energy potential of the Kyrgyz Republic was demonstrated to Italian companies, and the preferences provided to foreign investors were explained in detail. The Italian side expressed its readiness to send its proposals for the implementation of energy projects in the Kyrgyz Republic for their further consideration by the Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic.

During other meetings held, Italian entrepreneurs were presented with the investment potential of priority sectors of the economy of the Kyrgyz Republic, including tourism, clothing and textiles. The importance of attracting Italian advanced technologies, innovations and experience to the Kyrgyz Republic was noted.

The Italian side expressed its readiness to study in detail the information provided for further discussion of the implementation of projects in the Kyrgyz Republic.
