Today we are celebrating the 27^th anniversary of Independence of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Throughout our long history, we had periods of rising and falling, including of the first Kyrgyz Khaganate – an ancient state in IX-X centuries, which covered vast territories from Siberia to Central Asia.

Nowadays Kyrgyzstan is steadily developing on the way of democracy and liberal economy.

Since establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992 Kyrgyzstan and Pakistanenjoy excellent political relations and exchanged presidential visits twice, Pakistani Prime Ministers visited Kyrgyzstan three time, speakers of the Kyrgyzstan’s parliament visited Pakistan twice and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan paid an official visit to Pakistan.

Cooperation in the field of education is developing actively. About 2000 Pakistani students are studying in Kyrgyzstan mostly in medical universities. Last year the first Kyrgyz-Pakistani International Institute for medical sciences has started its work in Kyrgyzstan.

Our country’s geostrategic position on the crossroads between Central Asia and China and further through Karakorum pass to Pakistan opens excellent opportunities for regional trade and economic cooperation and connectivity.

I invite Pakistani businessmen to look into opportunities of joint cooperation.

I also invite Pakistani tourists to visit Kyrgyzstanto see the beautiful mountains of my country, which cover more than 90% of the territory. The highest mountain peaks of the world after the Himalayas and Pamir are located in Kyrgyzstan.

The Kyrgyz lake Issyk-Kul is the second largest high mountain lake in the world after Titicaca in South America.

In September this year the Third World Nomad Games successfully passed at the Issyk-Kul lake with participation of more than 2300 athletes from 80 countries, including Pakistan.

This lake is also a place of the Third International Issyk-Kul forum which started today in memory of the prominent Kyrgyz writer ChyngyzAitmatov, whose books have been translated into 176 languages and published in 80 mln. copies.

We provide a visa-free regime for more than 60 countries and recently introduced e-visa system.

In conclusion, allow me to extend my best greetings to Pakistani people, as well as sincere wishes of peace and prosperity.
