On May 31, 2021, H.E. Mr. Erik Beishembiev, Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan participated the cycling event under the theme of “Pedal for a Green Future”. The event was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan under Pakistan is the host of the “World Environment Day 2021”, which is celebrated on the 5th of June every year. The cycling event – held in partnership with the Ministry of Climate Change, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Urban Innovation.

Interacting with the Pakistani media H.E. Mr. Erik Beishembiev said “On the occasion of World Environment Day hosted this year by Pakistan, it is in recognition of its nature protection initiatives. We urgently need to intensify international cooperation with focus on preventing and reversing of natural ecosystems. Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan joined together with 12 other countries in Global Snow Leopard & Ecosystem Protection Programs. Due to the these efforts, the international community is seeing the importance of snow leopard conservation.”
