On September 30, 2022, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan H.E. Mr. Ulanbek Totuiaev met with the Chairman of the Senate of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani.

During the conversation, the parties discussed topical issues on the bilateral agenda of the Kyrgyz-Pakistani cooperation, in particular, regarding the development of inter-parliamentary cooperation, the intensification of the work of parliamentary friendship groups and the exchange of mutual visits at the level of the legislative bodies of the two countries. Interlocutors exchanged views on the development of the international situation, noting in this context the necessity of the development of the interregional cooperation in order to ensure sustainable development and jointly counter modern challenges and threats.

The interlocutors discussed the armed conflict on the Kyrgyz-Tajik section of the State border, which occurred on 14-17 September, 2022. In this context, Ambassador U.Totuiaev called on the Pakistani side to give an objective assessment of the events.

In his turn, M.S.Sanjrani, expressing concern over the events, noted the need to resolve such disputes through diplomatic means at the negotiating table.
