The Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic Islamabad organized an event dedicated to Snow Leopard and the importance of Ecotourism in collaboration with Pakistan Snow Leopard Foundation, Islamabad.

H.E. Mr. Erik Beishembiev in his speech noted that one of the main priorities will be the solution of issues related to global climate change and its catastrophic consequences for the integrity of ecosystems and the world cultural and natural heritage. H.E. Mr. Erik Beishembiev noted the efforts of the Kyrgyz Republic to preserve the snow leopard and its ecosystems. He also informed the participants about the tourism opportunities of Kyrgyzstan, in particular ecological tourism.

H.E. Mr. Erik Beishembiev were solemnly presented with commemorative drawings dedicated to the conservation of the snow leopard from students of the Gilgit-Baltistan province school.

Ambassadors of the Russian Federation, Republic of Azerbaijan, Republic of Belarus, Republic of Kazakhstan, Republic of Tajikistan, Republic of Uzbekistan, Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, Republic of Yemen, Republic of Mauritius and Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as representatives of the Pakistan Snow Leopard Foundation and the Area Study Centre (Central Asia, Russia and China), University of Peshawar participated at the event as guests of honor.
