Kyrgyzstan presented its trade, investment and tourism potential in the largest city of Pakistan

On November 2, 2020, a business forum and a round table on the topic: "The future of Kyrgyz-Pakistani bilateral relations: partnership for trade, investment and tourism" was held in the conference hall of the “Avari” hotel in Lahore.

The events were organized by the Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Pakistan together with the Lahore Center for Peace Studies as part of the anti-crisis measures of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic to eliminate the consequences of Covid-19 on the economy of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The purpose of the business forum and round table was to present the trade, investment and tourism potential of Kyrgyzstan in Pakistan, as well as to create a platform for exchanging views, discussing measures to stimulate exporters of the two countries, as well as issues of support from government institutions.

During the business forum, H.E. Ambassador E. Beishembiev made an extensive report on the current political situation and socio-economic situation in Kyrgyzstan, and also focused the attention of the participants on the huge potential for interaction between the business communities of the two countries in various fields, including agriculture, textile and pharmaceutical industry.

The events were attended by over 70 guests from among representatives of trade, pharmaceutical, textile and tourism companies, government agencies of Pakistan, international and non-governmental organizations, as well as experts from leading think tanks and the media in Pakistan.

It should be noted that the event resulted in an agreement to hold a business forum with the participation of pharmaceutical, textile and travel companies in Bishkek by the end of this year.
