On July 10, 2019, Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the United States Dr. Bolot Otunbaev met with Deputy Assistant Secretary for Central Asian Affairs Jonathan Henick. During the meeting parties discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral and regional cooperation, as well as joint plans for the future.

In particular, meeting allowed the parties to discuss the draft agenda of the next round of the Annual Bilateral Consultations, the results of the working groups meetings to discuss a draft of bilateral cooperation agreement, trade and investment cooperation development aspects and other important issues of bilateral cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the United States.

A separate subject of discussion were issues of regional cooperation, including within the framework of C5+1, the Council of the U.S.-Central Asia Trade and Investment Framework Agreement (TIFA), as well as issues of resolving the situation in Afghanistan and Syria.

Both sides confirmed their mutual interest and readiness for strengthening in a comprehensive way of the Kyrgyz-U.S. cooperation in all areas of interaction.
