On April 7, 2019, the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic to the USA organized an event with the participation of the Kyrgyz diaspora living in Washington, D.C., the States of New York, Maryland, Ohio, Illinois, Virginia, Pennsylvania and as well as in Canada.

On the occasion of the 9th anniversary of the April Revolution, which has been of great historical importance in the struggle of the Kyrgyz people for justice, the participants of the event paid tribute to the memory of those who perished during the tragic events of April 7, 2010. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the United States Bolot Otunbaev emphasized that the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbai Zheenbekov recently signed a decree on the 10th anniversary of the April Revolution.

Ambassador Bolot Otunbaev also congratulated Kyrgyz diaspora on Nooruz holiday.

The head of the diplomatic mission of Kyrgyzstan to the United States Bolot Otunbaev called on more active participation of the Kyrgyz community in events related to 30th anniversary of the acquisition of the status of the Kyrgyz language as the state language of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Noting the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the Foreign Ministry of the Kyrgyz Republic an important role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic has been emphasized in enhancing cooperation, increasing international and foreign economic relations, and raising the importance of protecting the rights and interests of each citizen.

The participants of the event also performed Kyrgyz folk songs and dances and read Kyrgyz fairy tales for children.
