On February 5 and 6, 2022 Bakyt Amanbaev, Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the United States, paid a working visit to California, USA. During the two-day visit, Bakyt Amanbaev met with Kyrgyz citizens living and studying in Los Angeles, Santa Monica, Glendale, Woodland Hills and other cities of California. During the meeting, the Ambassador briefed his compatriots on political developments in the Kyrgyz Republic over the past year, the purpose of President Sadyr Zhaparov's policies, and answered citizens' questions. The compatriots welcomed the decision of the Kyrgyz authorities to open consulates in Chicago and New York, and they asked for a separate consulate to be opened in California in the future.
In his speech Bakyt Amanbaev said that Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov is doing what no other president in the last 30 years has done, such as making the Kumtor mine, which had the highest level of corruption, started to work for the people, creating a responsible system of government through constitutional reform, eradicating entrenched party corruption in Kyrgyzstan over the last decade.  As a result of the constitution reform, ordinary people have the right to run for and be elected to the Jogorku Kenesh regardless of party leaders and to elect worthy candidates.
On the same days Embassy employees provide consular services to the citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic, including applications for exchange/issue of passports and other documents. A total of over 100 consular acts were conducted by the Embassy, and many citizens were provided verbal consultations.
During the meeting, the compatriots noted that for the past two decades, the Kyrgyz Ambassador to the United States has not come to California to meet with fellow citizens, explain U.S. policy, and answer their questions, and they thanked Ambassador Bakyt Amanbaev and the other Embassy staff.
