On February 15, 2024, the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the United States and Canada Baktybek Amanbaev met with Sarah Yager, Director of the Washington, DC office of Human Rights Watch.

During the meeting, Ambassador Amanbaev provided detailed information on the human rights situation in the country. It was emphasized that the Kyrgyz Republic is consistently working to further strengthen democracy and human rights.

For her part, the Director of Human Rights Watch welcomed the information about the measures taken to protect human rights in Kyrgyzstan and noted the importance of continuing this course.

At the conclusion of the meeting, parties agreed to continue constructive interaction on issues of mutual interest.
