Ambassador discussed the development and potential of breeding new breeds of cattle in Kyrgyzstan

On February 21, Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic Baktybek Amanbaev met with the Directo of Montana Department of Environmental Quality Mr. Chris Dorrington, and a representative of the Montana National Guard, Major Christopher Corey.

During the meeting, the parties discussed ways to improve bilateral cooperation between the state of Montana and Kyrgyzstan. Additionally, they discussed the organization of joint activities in this direction and the arrangement of avenues for bilateral cooperation of businesses. Ambassador Baktybek Amanbaev noted that different breeds of cattle are bred in Kyrgyzstan however there is a need for the country to improve the quality of cattle and in this regard proposed to strengthen cooperation with the state of Montana by implementing specific projects in this area. He also stated that because Montana has vast experience in breeding and growing different breeds of cattle in Montana, including Angus, Charolais, Longhorn and Hereford, he proposed to explore the possibility of exporting these breeds to Kyrgyzstan for distribution among local farmers. It was also proposed to consider the possibility of training Kyrgyz livestock farmers to apply new methods and technologies in the production of alternative feed for cattle.

Along with this, the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic discussed providing citizens of Kyrgyzstan with the opportunity to study at universities in Montana in agricultural fields.

The American side supported the proposals of Ambassador Baktybek Amanbaev and expressed interest and readiness in further joint development of issues aimed at improving bilateral cooperation. They also invited Ambassador Baktybek Amanbaev to visit Montana on a working visit soon.
