On February 26, the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the United States and Canada Baktybek Amanbaev met with the Executive Director of the largest Association of Banks for Finance and Trade in the US financial sector, Mr. Todd Borwell. During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to further improving cooperation between American and Kyrgyz banks.

Baktybek Amanbaev emphasized the importance and necessity of opening correspondent accounts by Kyrgyz banks in US banks to improve trade and economic interaction between the two countries and asked for assistance in solving this problem.

In turn, Mr. Todd Borwell explained in detail that the requirements for the activities of American banks have changed, especially considering global events in recent years, leading to significant changes in the international cooperation of American banks. He also offered specific recommendations regarding measures that should be taken to achieve specific results. Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue mutual cooperation in streghtening the financial cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the United States.
