On July 12, 2019, Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic Bolot Otunbaev met with Deputy Assistant Administrator of USAID Javier Piedra. Topical issues of interaction between Kyrgyzstan and USAID, including plans for the short-term and long-term periods of cooperation, have been discussed during the meeting.

In particular, this meeting allowed the parties to discuss the main areas of USAID assistance to Kyrgyzstan, selected issues of the draft agenda of the next round of the Kyrgyz-US Annual Bilateral Consultations, as well as prospects for cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the United States on assistance programs.

At the end of the meeting, the parties confirmed their mutual interest in developing and strengthening Kyrgyzstan’s relations with USAID, as well as their readiness to exchange views on current issues on the agenda on a regular basis.
