Cultural event dedicated to showcasing the tourism potential of the Kyrgyz Republic was held in Washington, DC

On May 16, in Washington, D.C. was held a cultural event organized by the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the United States and Canada to showcase the rich history, culture and touristic potential of the Kyrgyz people. In the event participated representatives of the U.S. Department of State, the White House, the diplomatic corps in Washington, D.C., representatives of international organizations, as well as Kyrgyz citizens living and working in the United States.

During the event Ambassador Baktybek Amanbaev noted about the 2200-year history of Kyrgyz statehood. He also mentioned the history of the formation of the Kara-Kyrgyz Autonomous Republic and shared detailed information about Kyrgyz culture and tourism potential.

During the event the guests were introduced to the premiere of the Kyrgyz movie «Paradise under the feet of mothers» followed by a meeting with the main actor E.Esenaliev. After the premiere of the film, a photo exhibition reflecting the tourism potential of Kyrgyzstan was organized, as well as an art exhibition of Kyrgyz artist A. Janaliev, who demonstrated a unique technique of drawing with the use of threads and nails.
