The Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Kyrgyz diaspora in the Czech Republic celebrated the Independence Day of the Kyrgyz Republic

On September 2, 2023, the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Austria, in collaboration with the Kyrgyz diaspora in the Czech Republic, held a joint event dedicated to the 32nd anniversary of the independence of the Kyrgyz Republic in Prague. The celebration was attended by official guests and compatriots from the Czech Republic, Austria, Slovakia, Italy, Germany, Belgium, and Hungary, as well as representatives of other ethnic groups living in the Czech Republic.

The opening ceremony of the Honorary Consulate of the Kyrgyz Republic in Prague was also held as part of this festive occasion. Saadatkan Daminova, one of the leaders of the diaspora organization in the Czech Republic, was appointed as the Honorary Consul.

Participants and guests of the solemn event were welcomed by Ambassador Tolendy Makeyev, renowned historian Tynchtyk Chorotegin, Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic in Kyrgyzstan Marat Djanbaev, as well as representatives and activists of the Kyrgyz diaspora from Germany, Italy, Slovakia, and other countries.

The opening of the Honorary Consulate in the Czech Republic is intended to be an important step in the development of mutually beneficial and traditionally friendly Kyrgyz-Czech relations, as well as in providing consular and legal assistance to Kyrgyz citizens in the Czech Republic.

The event featured a concert program of Kyrgyz songs, a quiz, and traditional folk games such as tug-of-war (arkan tartysh), jooluk tashtamay, and a toguz torgool competition.
