On 27 September 2023, a meeting between the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Austria T.Makeyev and the Member of the National Council (Parliament) of Austria, Chair of the “Austria-Central Asia” Parliamentary Friendship Group Dr. Ewa Ernst-Dziedzic took place in Vienna.

During the meeting, the issues of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Austria through inter-parliamentary relations were discussed.

Ambassador T.Makeyev informed the Austrian MP about the activity of the parliamentary friendship group for cooperation with Austria in the Jogorku Kenesh (Parliament) of the Kyrgyz Republic. Issues of exchanging experience in the field of lawmaking between the Kyrgyz Republic and Austria, as well as organizing mutual visits at the level of parliamentary friendship groups were also discussed.

In addition, the interlocutors discussed the issue of jointly holding a cultural event in Vienna in honor of the 95th anniversary of the People's Writer of the Kyrgyz Republic Ch.Aitmatov.

The parties confirmed their intention to continue further interaction to implement the above agreements and expand Kyrgyz-Austrian inter-parliamentary cooperation.
