On May 13, 2021, Ermek Isakov, Charge d'Affaires of the Kyrgyz Republic in Italy, met with the Secretary General of the International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (UNIDROIT) Ignacio Tirado.
For reference: The International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (UNIDROIT) is an international intergovernmental organization that prepares international documents in the field of private law. UNIDROIT was established on October 3, 1925, and in 1940 the Institute was reorganized on an independent basis and with a new Statute signed by the Member States on March 15, 1940. At present, 63 states are members of UNIDROIT. Kyrgyzstan, like other countries of Central Asia, is not a member of UNIDROIT.
During the meeting, the UNIDROIT Secretary General was handed the Letters of accession of Kyrgyzstan to the Convention on International Interests in Mobile Equipment and the Protocol on Aviation Equipment to the Convention on International Interests in Mobile Equipment, signed on November 16, 2001 in Cape Town.
Also during the meeting, a number of issues were discussed on the cooperation of the Kyrgyz side with the UNIDROIT Organization on various issues.
