On October 10th, 2022, with the assistance of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Italy, a videoconference meeting was organized with the participation of the leadership of the mayor's offices of Bishkek and Palermo, the Sicily region, as well as the Chambers of Commerce and Industry, universities and opera houses of the two cities.

The parties discussed joint initiatives aimed at developing cooperation between the municipalities of the two cities, which include interaction and exchange of experience on urban management issues, as well as the implementation of projects in the academic, cultural and sports fields.

Mayor of Palermo R. Lagalla expressed his readiness to sign an Agreement on establishing sister city relations with Bishkek during his visit to Bishkek, the terms of which will be agreed between the parties in the near future.

Kyrgyz Economic University named after. M. Ryskulbekova and the city of Palermo also expressed their readiness to develop cooperation by signing a bilateral agreement, holding joint round tables, seminars and conferences with the participation of academic circles.

Kyrgyz National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre. A. Maldybaeva and one of the largest opera houses in Europe "Teatro Massimo" reached an agreement to organize joint events, concerts with the participation of young opera singers and ballet dancers, training internships for production designers, as well as young theater artists.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry noted close cooperation with the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of various regions of Italy and invited representatives of the business community of Palermo to establish close contacts with entrepreneurs of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The parties agreed to work together to prepare the content of the visit of the regional delegation from Palermo to Bishkek.
