On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Italian Republic, a concert of Kyrgyz folk music organized by the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Italian Republic took place in Rome on November 24, 2022.

 

The concert, under the direction of Rector of the Kyrgyz State University of Culture and Arts named after B. Beishenalieva, Professor M. Chotonov, was held in a famous historical theatre "Arcobaleno". Honoured Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic, reciter of the epic "Manas" S. Kochobaev, honoured cultural figures E. Оskоnbaeva and bagpiper, komuzist K. Sultanbekov, as well as repeated winner of national music competitions, bagpiper B. Alagushov performed at the theatre.

 

The guests of the event were the heads of diplomatic missions and international organizations, representatives of governmental bodies, business circles, cultural figures of Italy as well as representatives of numerous Kyrgyz diaspora living in Italy.

 

The official part of the concert started with a speech by Ambassador T. Bazarbaev, who noted that such events allow the preservation of popular culture and passing on spiritual values. He expressed confidence that the Kyrgyz-Italian intercultural dialogue will deepen, bring the people of the two countries closer together and will continue the cycle of bilateral cultural exchanges between Kyrgyzstan and Italy.

 

At the same time, on November 25, 2022, Rector of the Kyrgyz State University of Culture and Arts named after B. Beishenalieva, M. Chotonov and the Director of the Roman University of Fine Arts F. Mongeli signed an agreement on bilateral cooperation, covering joint projects on training and research activities, as well as art and cultural events involving students and teachers from the two institutions.
