On January 17, 2023, the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Italian Republic Taalay Bazarbaev met with the newly appointed Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy, Edmondo Chirielli, who is in charge of the countries of Central Asia.

During the meeting, the parties discussed a wide range of issues on the bilateral and multilateral agenda. In particular, issues of organizing bilateral visits at high and highest levels in the near future, as well as expanding the legal framework, including in the consular sphere, were discussed.

Ambassador T. Bazarbaev stressed that Kyrgyzstan attaches great importance to the development of a comprehensive partnership with Italy.

In turn, Deputy Minister E. Chirielli expressed his readiness to provide maximum assistance in enhancing bilateral cooperation in the political, trade and economic, as well as cultural and humanitarian spheres.
