From November 22 to 25, 2023 the Mayor of Karakol city Ch.Bapaev is on an official visit to the city of Cagliari at the invitation of the Mayor of Cagliari P.Truzzu within the framework of the Agreement on Friendship and Cooperation between the city of Karakol and the city of Cagliari (Sardinia) signed with the assistance of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Italian Republic in September 2023. The Kyrgyz delegation included representatives of the Mayor's Office of Karakol as well as entrepreneurs from Kyrgyzstan.

On November 23, an official ceremony was held in the Palazzo Civico building to sign a new Agreement on deepening cooperation between the city of Karakol and the city of Cagliari in trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian, scientific and technical fields, as well as in the field of tourism and sports.

During this period the Kyrgyz delegation will also visit the agricultural enterprises in the Sardinia region and hold meetings with the Italian entrepreneurs interested in implementing economic projects in Kyrgyzstan.

The Mayor of Karakol Ch.Bapaev noted the importance of practical implementation of the signed Agreement together with the Italian side in all areas of mutual interest.

Ambassador T. Bazarbayev emphasized the need to focus on expanding bilateral trade and economic exchanges and cooperation in the tourism sector.

The Mayor of Cagliari P. Truzzu expressed his readiness to provide all possible assistance in implementation of all the noted initiatives, as well as in bringing the peoples of the two countries closer together.
