Cultural and humanitarian cooperation

Cultural dialogue between nations has become a good tradition. A huge role in familiarization with the culture of both states belongs to the theater groups of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Tajikistan. Regularly held festivals, in which creative teams of the two countries take part, promote the rapprochement of peoples and the strengthening of cultural ties.

From July 8 to July 13, 2015, Days of Culture of Tajikistan were held in Kyrgyzstan. On November 16-20, 2016, the Days of Culture of Kyrgyzstan were successfully held in Tajikistan. The next Days of Culture of Tajikistan in Kyrgyzstan are planned in 2018.

In accordance with the existing arrangements, Kyrgyz Republic each year gives 25 budget places to the citizens of Tajikistan for studying at universities in Kyrgyz Republic and 55 budget places for ethnic Tajiks who are living in the Kyrgyz Republic are given by Tajikistan to study at universities in Tajikistan.

In order to implement the Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic No. 81 “On the celebration of the 90th anniversary of the birth of Ch. Aitmatov», in January 2018, with the assistance of the Embassy, the novel “When the mountains fall» in the Tajik language was published in Dushanbe. The novel was translated into Tajik by Hikmat Rahmat, a member of the Union of Writers of the Republic of Tajikistan. On February 1 2018, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic S. Jeenbekov, in the course of his official visit to the Republic of Tajikistan, presented one copy of the novel to the President of the Republic of Tajikistan E. Rakhmon.

The Kyrgyz Embassy in the Republic of Tajikistan annually participates in cultural, sport events and festivals held by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan among the diplomatic corps accredited to the Republic of Tajikistan.
