On 12 January 2023, the first Special Meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council under the Chairpersonship of North Macedonia took place in Vienna, during which the OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Minister of Foreign Affairs of North Macedonia Bujar Osmani delivered the program of  Chairpersonship.

Delegations from more than 20 OSCE participating States, including the delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic, supported the priorities of the North Macedonian Chairpersonship.

In his statement, the Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the OSCE T. Makeyev called on the chairpersonship to use the resources of the OSCE Academy in Bishkek to further advance the youth agenda.

He expressed the readiness of the Kyrgyz side for constructive cooperation with the chairpersonship of North Macedonia in all three dimensions of the Organization.

He especially noted the intention of North Macedonia to promote human security by supporting sustainable economic growth and cooperation in the field of environmental protection. In this context, he drew attention to the initiative of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic H.E. S.Zhaparov to exchange the country's external debt for the implementation of green projects in our country. He outlined the main points from the recent appeal of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic addressed to partner countries and international financial institutions.
