The delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic headed by First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Nuran Niyazaliev took part in the 16th Ministerial Meeting of the Asia Cooperation Dialogue Member States which was held on May 1, 2019, in Doha.

During the meeting, the heads of delegations at the level of Minister/Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the 34 member countries of the ACD discussed topical issues of modern international relations, noted the importance of strengthening regional cooperation, confirmed promising areas of cooperation between the participating countries, including the development of trade and economic relations, deepening cultural and humanitarian contacts, expanding the range of educational programs and projects.

In his speech, N. Niyazaliev noted as one of the most important activities of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic the implementation of the Decree by Mr Sooronbai Jeenbekov, President of the Kyrgyz Republic “On declaring 2019 the Year of Regional Development and Digitalization”, on the measures which have been taken to digitally transform the country and to strengthen the capacity of regions and local communities.

The head of the delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic also noted the importance of strengthening relations between the countries of the Asia Cooperation Dialogue, taking into account the need to apply the best practices of the countries in the region to introduce new technologies that facilitate access to quality services, increase the level of security for the population. In this context, the role of the ACD in strengthening cooperation in the educational sphere between the participating countries was noted.

The Doha Declaration was adopted following the results of April 30, 2019 discussions at the Meeting of Senior Officials of the ACD Member Countries, which was attended by the Director of the 4th Political Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Muratbek Azymbakiev.

In the framework of the 16th meeting, N. Niyazaliev held working meetings with the heads of the delegations of Laos, Thailand, Sri Lanka, the Philippines, Nepal, Oman, Mongolia, at which issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation were discussed.
