The delegation of Kyrgyzstan took part in the 8th Seoul International Conference on Renewable Energy Sources

On October 23-25, 2019, the 8th International Conference on Renewable Energy Sources was held in Seoul. The Conference was attended by the delegation of Kyrgyzstan, consisting of the Chairman of the State Committee for Industry, Energy and Subsoil Use of the Kyrgyz Republic Emil Osmonbetov, Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Republic of Korea Dinara Kemelova and President of the Association of Small Hydroelectric Power Plants of Kyrgyzstan Elvira Borombaeva.

During this Conference, bilateral meetings were held with the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy, Mr. Yunmo Song, and the Deputy Minister of Trade, Industry, and Energy of the Republic of Korea, Mr. Young J. Joo, where they discussed prospects for cooperation in the field of energy, including investment in the Constructions of Hydropower Plants in Kyrgyzstan, likewise implementation of joint projects on renewable energy sources.

Brief conversations were also held with the Chair of the Council of the Global Green Growth Institute, Mr. Ban Ki-moon, the President of the Korean Energy Agency, Mr. Kim Chang Seob, additionally with the heads of delegations of Germany, Mongolia, Australia, Cambodia and other countries.

During discussions with representatives of leading Korean companies in the field of energy, the Kyrgyz delegation presented the favorable investment climate and the potential of the Kyrgyz Republic in the field of renewable energy sources.
