On March 19, 2021, the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic to the USA and Canada took part in the annual celebration of the international Nowruz holiday, which was organized jointly with the diplomatic missions of Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan in a virtual format. The event was moderated by the American think tanks Meridian International Center and the Oxus Society.

During the event, US Secretary of State A. Blinken, representatives of the White House, Congress, the Department of Defense, the US Department of Commerce, and the business community delivered a congratulatory message on the occasion of Nowruz.

In his speech, Ambassador B. Otunbayev congratulated all the participants of the event, including our compatriots on the brightest holiday of Nowruz, the holiday of spring, unity and prosperity, and also wished health and all the best, and prosperity to all countries. Ambassador B. Otunbayev noted that Nooruz plays a significant role in strengthening ties between peoples based on mutual respect and ideals of peace and good neighborliness.

During the event, Ms.Son, the Chief Executive Director of the American-Kyrgyz Business Council made a speech, who noted the main directions and prospects of the Kyrgyz-American trade and economic cooperation.

The Embassies organized a joint holiday basket with dishes and sweets of the countries of Central Asia, Azerbaijan and Afghanistan for the event participants and American partners.

Within the framework of the cultural program, the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic to the USA and Canada presented videos about the traditions, life, cultural values and arts of the peoples of Kyrgyzstan.
