International Central Asian-American IT Forum was held in New York

On September 13, 2022, the Central Asian American IT Forum "Central Asia is the next IT destination" was held in New York, attended by Brian Stimmler, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South Asian and Central Asian Affairs, Bakyt Amanbaev,  Ambassador  of the Kyrgyz Republic to the United States, Bakhtiyor Ibragimov, Permanent Representative of Uzbekistan to the UN, Kazakhstan Consul General in New York Raushan Esbulatova and representatives of several IT-sector companies. The event was attended by representatives of leading IT companies from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, as well as a number of leading American international companies who spoke about their activities. Such issues as organization of a single IT market in Central Asia, ways of entering international markets, exchange of experience, and training of specialists were discussed at the forum.

The meeting was opened by Bakyt Amanbaev, Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the USA. In his speech, he noted that historically important documents on strengthening relations between the states of the region were adopted at the Fourth Consultative Summit of the Leaders of Central Asian States chaired by President Sadyr Zhaparov on August 21 in Cholpon-Ata, adding that the above decision of the heads of states will help improve international relations in the region. In his further speech, Amanbaev said that ninety-nine percent of the world's population is closely connected with IT technologies, and expressed the opinion that IT specialists from Central Asian countries have full potential to jointly create a single digital market on the Eurasian continent. Bakyt Amanbaev also noted that President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov created all necessary conditions for comprehensive development of the IT industry in the country, adding that the Kyrgyz authorities will continue their efforts in this direction in the future.

Mr.Brian Stimmler, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South Asian and Central Asian Affairs, in his speech noted that the IT industry is developing all over the world, and said that the US government will fully support joint efforts of the Central Asian countries in this area.

Participants of the meeting provided information about their activities and spoke about opening a wide path to the global online commerce market through the development of interstate e-commerce and development of platform applications.

 The event was jointly organized by the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic to the USA, the Kyrgyz High Technology Park, the Kyrgyz Association of Software and Services Developers, USAID, and BTCA.
