On November 2, 2020 Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the UN Mirgul Moldoisaeva had a phone conversation with the Under Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs Liu Zhenmin. 

During the conversation Permanent Representative Mirgul Moldoisaeva informed about the current internal situation, particularly about the full-fledged work of all public bodies as well as on the events occurred in Kyrgyzstan after the parliamentary elections including peaceful transfer of authority in accordance with the national legislation. Also she assured the Under Secretary-General Liu Zhenmin on how Kyrgyzstan remain committed to the full implementation of the Agenda on Sustainable Development before 2030, noting also the presentation of Voluntary National Review on Sustainable Development Goals’ implementation during the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development in July 2020. In addition Mirgul Moldoisaeva mentioned the importance to continue the interaction between the Kyrgyz Republic and the UN on the issues of Sustainable Development Goals’ implementation in the current situation with COVID-19 pandemic and its social and economic consequences for Member States, and she mentioned the necessity to pay attention to cooperation on recovery and preservation of environment as the important precondition of their full implementation. 

From his side Under Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs Liu Zhenmin once again underlined the UN’s readiness and, in particularly, the UN Department for Economic and Social Affairs to continue assistance to Member State in the full implementation of Sustainable Development Goals. 

In the concluding part of conversation Permanent Representative Mirgul Moldoisaeva invited Under Secretary-General Liu Zhenmin to attend in the side-event on occasion of International Moutain Day on December 11, 2020 arranged by the Permanent Mission of the Kyrgyz Republic to the UN.
