Delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, consisting of Deputy Director of the Fourth Political Department - Special Representative for Afghanistan S.Ibraev and Counselor of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Republic of Tajikistan M.Soorbekov took part on March 29, 2021 in Dushanbe in the meeting of Senior Officials "Heart of Asia - Istanbul Process on Afghanistan ".

During the meeting, representatives of the participating states, countries, international and regional organizations supporting the process, considered the draft of the Dushanbe Declaration, which will be approved by the Ninth Ministerial Conference "Heart of Asia - Istanbul Process on Afghanistan" on March 30, 2021 in Dushanbe.

The Dushanbe Declaration under the slogan “Strengthening consensus for peace and development”, agreed upon the results of the meeting of Senior Officials, reflects specific directions for the development of cooperation between the participating states and countries, supporting the process of strengthening security, developing trade and economic ties and regional integration.

Reference: On November 2, 2011 the international ministerial conference was held in Istanbul under the slogan “Istanbul process of regional security and cooperation for secure and stable Afghanistan”, which marked the beginning of the “Istanbul Process Afghanistan - Heart of Asia” initiated by Afghanistan and Turkey. This process is an international forum designed to facilitate Afghanistan's integration into regional security, economic and political cooperation through dialogue and confidence-building measures (CBM). Kyrgyzstan takes an active part in the process and is in 6 groups of the CBM IPAHA. Afghanistan is the permanent co-chair and coordinator of this process with the support of other participating states. Since 2011, a total of 8 ministerial conferences have taken place, organized in different countries of the region.
