The head of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry expressed gratitude to the Japanese side for the support for employment of Kyrgyz citizens in Okinawa Prefecture

On October 24, 2019, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Chingiz Aidarbekov met with State Minister for Finance, Deputy of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of Japan Mr. Kiohiko Toyama.

In light of the relevance of regional development for the Kyrgyz side, Minister Aidarbekov proposed to make joint efforts to establish contacts and expand cooperation between the regions, encouraging twinning ties. Thanking the interlocutor for the support provided in the establishment of employment of citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic in Okinawa Prefecture, Aidarbekov noted that their number, to date, has exceeded 60 people. The Minister spoke about the measures taken by the Kyrgyz side to further increase the number of Kyrgyz workers in Japan.

The parties also discussed the prospects of cooperation and joint actions for the implementation of infrastructure projects in the field of transport, protective structures against natural disasters and the development of hydropower potential of the country, as well as the prospects of accumulating special funds for them.
