On March 27-28, 2024, with the assistance of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Turkmenistan the Kyrgyz delegation took part in the international conference «Main directions and potential for tourism development in Turkmenistan» in Ashgabat.  The conference was attended by representatives of the World Tourism Organization, the Organization for Economic Cooperation, the World Tourism Cities Federation as well as representatives of travel companies.

As part of the participation of the Kyrgyz delegation in this forum, a meeting of representatives of the tourism industry of Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan was organized at the Embassy during which 17 Turkmen companies were provided with information about the tourism potential of the Kyrgyz Republic. Representatives of tourism companies of Kyrgyzstan made presentations, shared information about the main directions of tourism in the country. Additionally, video materials were shown and printed materials in the form of brochures and booklets about the tourist opportunities of Kyrgyzstan were presented.

As a result of this event, 8 cooperation agreements were signed and plans for organizing an info tour to Kyrgyzstan were outlined.
