An exhibition of Kyrgyz artists

On 8-9 September 2023, an exhibition of Kyrgyz artists was held in London as part of the celebration of the 32nd anniversary of the Independence of the Kyrgyz Republic with the support of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the UK. Art connoisseurs and visitors learnt about the works of Kyrgyz artists Aziz Sulaimanov, Zalkar Toktogulov, Sadyk Murzakanov, Arstan Dukuev and Eldiyar Sharshenbiev.

British art connoisseurs were widely presented paintings of painters who work in the realistic direction, and artists with a distinctive handwriting. The exhibition showed how multifaceted the art of Kyrgyzstan is, how it is developing and where it is going. It is also a good platform for sharing experience, as both young and experienced authors participate. The audience was inspired by the high professionalism of Kyrgyz art, and a number of works by the author will decorate private collections and galleries in London and other cities in the UK.

This is the first major exhibition of Kyrgyz artists in the UK and the organisers, represented by the Embassy of Kyrgyzstan and art historian Gulsara Akmatova, plan to continue introducing Kyrgyz art to the British public.
