Today, on 13April 2022, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the United Kingdom Ulan Djusupov met with the Executive Board Director and General Counsel of the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) Ms. Sakhila Mirza.

The meeting was aimed at discussing the issues related to restoring the status of the Kyrgyz Republic in the list of suppliers “Good Delivery”.

During the conversation, Ambassador U.Djusupov informed that JSC “Kyrgyz Altyn” is currently implementing all the necessary measures required by the LBMA norms and standards. It was added that in the future the Kyrgyz side would strictly comply with the LBMA rules and carry out all the procedures in time.

Ambassador Djusupov also elaborated on the achievement of a peaceful settlement between the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Centerra Gold regarding the management of the Kyrgyz mining company “Kumtor Gold”.

It was noted that the Kyrgyz side is ready to fully comply with its obligations under the signed Agreement and expects Centerra Gold to fulfill its obligations.

U.Djusupov also stressed that the resolution of the claims of the parties regarding the Kumtor mine would help restore the confidence and interest of foreign investors in cooperation with the Kyrgyz Republic.

Ms. Sakhila Mirza expressed her gratitude for active cooperation with the LBMA and the efforts of the Kyrgyz side to resolve existing issues. She expressed her hope that the Kyrgyz Republic will continue to make a great contribution to increasing the trustworthiness of the Good Delivery List.
