On September 3, 2021, the Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to UN office and other international organizations in Geneva, Almazbek Beishenaliev met with the Chairman of the Working Group on Discrimination against Women and Girls Ms.Melissa Upreti.

The parties discussed issues related to the Working Group’s upcoming visit to Kyrgyzstan in October to study the situation related to the standing of women in the country, in particular the practices of eliminating discrimination against women in law and in practice.

Ms. M.Upreti expressed gratitude to the Kyrgyz side for cooperation in organizing the upcoming visit and noted that it underlines Kyrgyzstan’s commitment to full cooperation with the UN special procedures.
