On May 5, 2023, on the sidelines of the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the SCO member countries in Panaji, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Mr. Zheenbek Kulubaev met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

During the meeting, the parties discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan, as well as issues of regional security and cooperation.

Mr. Zh.Kulubaev expressed confidence that the coming official visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan Mr. B.Zardari to the Kyrgyz Republic in June 2023 will contribute to raising the level of Kyrgyz-Pakistani relations.

In the context of the mutual interest of the parties in creating favorable conditions for the development of cooperation in the field of education, energy, pharmaceuticals and the textile industries, the parties agreed to resume the activities of the Joint Kyrgyz-Pakistani Intergovernmental Commission on trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation, the next meeting of which is scheduled to be held within 2023.

Stressing high importance to the development of political relations between Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan, the parties discussed issues on exchanging of visits at the highest level.
