On October 20, 2020 in Islamabad the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Erik Beishembiev met with the Executive Director of All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) Mr. Shahid Sattar.

During the meeting, Ambassador E. Beishembiev first of all informed the Pakistani side about the current internal political situation in the Kyrgyz Republic and noted that the situation in the country has stabilized and its executive bodies continue to operate in their regular mode. Ambassador also emphasized the continuity of Kyrgyzstan in the development of mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation with its foreign partners.

The parties discussed the development of Kyrgyz-Pakistani cooperation in the textile industry. The Pakistani side expressed interest in exporting raw cotton from Kyrgyzstan, as well as in developing joint projects in the textile industry.

Besides, the parties discussed the development of transport and logistics ties between Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan.

Following the event, both sides confirmed their readiness to promote the establishment and expansion of direct business contacts between the business circles of the two countries.

All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) is the premier trade association of the textile spinning, weaving, and composite mills representing the organized sector in Pakistan. APTMA emerges as the largest association of the country as it represents 396 textile mills out of which 315 are spinning, 44 weaving and 37 composite units.
