On September 14, 2022, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan H.E. Mr. Ulanbek Totuiaev met with the Minister of national food security and research of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan H.E. Mr. Tariq Bashir Cheema.

During the conversation, the parties exchanged views on topical issues on the agenda of the Kyrgyz-Pakistani cooperation. In particular, they emphasized on the importance of expanding mutual export-import items such as agricultural products and food products, as well as establishing efficient transport routes between the two countries.

In this context, Ambassador U. Totuiaev requested to consider the possibility of facilitating the conditions for the export of grains and legumes from Kyrgyzstan to Pakistan in order to increase the volume of mutual trade.

The parties agreed that in today's conditions, ensuring food security and active work with foreign partners in this direction are the key for stability and sustainable development throughout the world. In this regard, the parties confirmed the readiness for further productive interaction aimed at developing bilateral trade and economic cooperation.
