On August 3, 2021, Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the UN and other international organizations in Geneva, A. Beishenaliev, met with Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Dr. Tedros Ghebreyesus.

During the meeting, the Permanent Representative A.Beishenaliev expressed his gratitude to the WHO Director-General Dr.Ghebreyesus for the comprehensive assistance provided by the organization to Kyrgyzstan in the fight against COVID-19. In addition, the parties discussed other topical issues of cooperation in the field of vaccination against COVID-19, as well as the project activities carried out by WHO in Kyrgyzstan, in particular: in the field of combating other communicable and non-communicable diseases; mental health; immunization, and issues of women's reproductive health.

Permanent Representative A.Beishenaliev emphasized that WHO's project activities contribute to the successful and consistent work of the state in strengthening the health sector and expressed hope for close cooperation in this direction.

In turn, the WHO Director-General Dr.T.Ghebreyesus thanked the Kyrgyz side for close cooperation in the fight against COVID-19 and noted WHO's readiness to continue to support Kyrgyzstan in this matter.
