On October 4, 2021, the Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the UN and other international organizations in Geneva A.Beishenaliev met with ILO Director-General Mr.Guy Ryder.

Permanent Representative A.Beishenaliev noted the high level of bilateral cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the ILO and also expressed appreciation for the ILO Director general for the ILO assistance provided to Kyrgyzstan, including in conducting an express assessment of the impact of the pandemic on the economy and labour market of Kyrgyzstan and providing recommendations on overcoming the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the ongoing issues of bilateral cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the ILO; project activities of the organization in the country, as well as the promising areas of interaction in the field of reducing informal employment, assisting migrants and their families and conducting an inventory of labour legislation in Kyrgyzstan with a view of bringing into line with international labour standards.

In turn, the Director-General of the ILO Mr. Ryder expressed his satisfaction with the level of cooperation of the ILO and Kyrgyzstan and underlined the organization's readiness to continue to provide technical and expert assistance to Kyrgyzstan within the ILO mandate.
