Kyrgyzstan was presented at the international tourism exhibition MATTA FAIR-2023 in Malaysia

In Malaysia, for the first time on a large scale, the Kyrgyz Republic was presented at the international tourism exhibition MATTA FAIR-2023, which took place from 17 to 19 March in Kuala Lumpur.

The Kyrgyz pavilion was organized by the Tourism Development Support Fund in the Kyrgyz Republic with the active assistance of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Malaysia.

The delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic with the participation of three hotels and two tour operators was headed by the President of the Fund Mrs. Elena Kalashnikova. During the exhibition a number B2B-meetings were held. All participants and guests were represented with tourist brochures.

Within the framework of the exhibition MATTA FAIR-2023 the tourism business forum was held with the participation of more than 100 foreign companies. From the Malaysian side the President of the Association of Travel Agencies and Tour Operators of Malaysia Mr. Tan Kok Liang and the Executive Director of the Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mr. Sean Edward Cheah are participated in this Forum.

In addition, two meetings were held with Malaysia's Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Dato' Sri Tiong - at the official opening and during a tour of the pavilions. Employees of the Kyrgyz Republic Tourism Development Support Fund exchanged ideas with him. In the end, they were invited to come to Malaysia for a halal tourism exhibition in the fall.

Chargé d'Affaires of the Kyrgyz Republic to Malaysia Mr. Atai Namatbaev delivered a welcoming address during the Forum, which outlined opportunities for increased investment cooperation and encouraged Malaysian investors to cooperate with Kyrgyz companies for mutual benefit.

As a result of the event, four memorandums of cooperation were signed between the Tourism Development Support Fund in the Kyrgyz Republic and the Association of Travel Agencies and Tour Operators of Malaysia, as well as three Malaysian tourism companies.
