On March 2, 2024, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Zheenbek Kulubaev met with the Minister of Higher Education of Malaysia Zambry Abdul Kadir on the margins of the Antalya Diplomatic Forum.

During the meeting, the parties discussed relevant topics of the Kyrgyz-Malaysian cooperation and further steps to strengthen interaction in both bilateral and multilateral formats.

Minister Zheenbek Kulubaev noted with satisfaction the first visit of the former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia Zambry Abdul Kadir to the Kyrgyz Republic in July last year created a basis for further development of Kyrgyz-Malaysian cooperation.

Taking the opportunity, the Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan congratulated his former colleague on his appointment as the Minister of Higher Education of Malaysia. Zheenbek Kulubaev stressed the interest of the Kyrgyz side in strengthening cooperation and academic exchange in the field of educational technologies, as well as in studying the experience of Malaysia in the field of digitalization of education.

Zambry Abdul Kadir, for his part, stressed that relations between Kyrgyzstan and Malaysia are based on friendship and mutual respect. He indicated the readiness of the Malaysian side to work actively together in a bilateral format, including cooperation within the framework of international and regional organizations.
