On the 08th of June 2018 in the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic to Malaysia was held an evening dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Chyngyz Aitmatov - an outstanding Kyrgyz writer with the participation of active members of the Kyrgyz diaspora in Malaysia.

Charge d'Affaires of the Kyrgyz Republic to Malaysia Mr. Kushtarbek Shamshidov briefly informed regarding the ongoing events in the Kyrgyz Republic and abroad on the celebration of the 90th anniversary of Chyngyz Aitmatov. Also, Mr. Kushtarbek Shamshidov congratulated the gathered compatriots on the holy month of Ramadan and wished them peace, unity and prosperity.

Within the framework of this meeting, the Embassy organized an intellectual-entertaining game according to the rules of "Quiz Night" on the theme: "Biography and professional activity of Chyngyz Aitmatov". The winning team received valuable gifts on behalf of the Head of the Kyrgyz Diaspora in Malaysia Ms. Aigul Akimalieva. Besides that, the documentary film "Citizen of the Earth" about Chyngyz Aitmatov and the film "The White Steamship" were shown for guests of the Evening.

At the end of the event, the Embassy together with the leaders of the Kyrgyz diaspora in Malaysia organized “Ooz Achuu” (Iftar) for compatriots residing in Malaysia.

The event also provided an opportunity for compatriots to receive from the Embassy staff individual consultations regarding the consular issues.
